Nouveau Luxury Builders, previously known as Joy Homes, was formed in 2002. It started off with building high volume of new homes in some suburban neighborhoods of the Greater Houston areas such as White Oak Plantation, Woodbranch Village and Roman Forest of Montgomery County. It also built custom homes for customers on their own lots in different communities of the Greater Houston area. In 2009, the company has phased out its development and construction of residential subdivisions in the suburban areas and shifted its focus to building high-end luxury homes in the Memorial areas.
John Liu is the founder and owner of Nouveau Luxury Builders and has 20 years of experience in real estate development and construction. He started as a banker, then a professor and a business consultant. His consulting business got him engaged in real estate development and construction management. He worked as a principal or an executive with several development and construction companies and was personally involved with design and construction of office buildings, shopping centers, hotels, apartments and residential homes. That experience stimulated John’s interest in custom home design and building. To follow his passion for home building, he started this home building business in 2002.
John finds great joy in building stylish homes and pride himself on beautiful homes crafted under his guidance. He traveled extensively worldwide to seek architectural and design inspirations and stay ahead of the design trend.
John Liu was born and raised in China. After working in the banking industry there for a while, he moved to the US and worked for San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank and International Monetary Fund in Washington DC. He received a master degree in Economics from Ohio State University and a doctoral degree in Finance from University of Houston. He was professing in Finance at different universities including University of Houston.
David has been working in home building and remodeling industry for 20 years. He started his career in Shreveport, Louisiana, as a framing carpenter and framed custom homes for five years. He then grew himself into trim carpentry trade where he further sharpened his woodmaking skills and learned how to perfect details that require ultimate attention. Over the next 10 years he worked his way up to run his own trim carpentry crews and trim new homes.
David moved to Houston in 2012 and joined Craftmanship By John, a reputable company specialized in high-budget home remodeling in upscale neighborhoods of Houston. After briefly working as a senior carpenter, David was promoted into a project manager and managed multiple remodeling projects at the same time. In five years he managed about 100 remodeling projects most of which are in Memorial Villages. That experience has tremendously widened his knowledge base about luxury home building and gave him opportunities to deal with different aspects of construction of luxury homes. He constantly received rave comments from his clients for his on-time and on-budget for the projects he managed. He does not only have sharp eyes on quality details but also has strong sense of cost control.
Nouveau Luxury Builders fortunately got David on board in 2017 as a project manager. David is working hard to stay on top of every project under his management. With his valuable help Nouveau Luxury Builders is becoming the best of the industry.
